Evie’s Record Breaking Day

Huge congratulations to Evie, who in her first competition held outside of the club manage to shoot a club and county record.

On 05/06/2021 at Cleve Archers ground Evie approached the competition with some nerves, as anyone would in their first competition. the aim was purely to do as best as she could, not embarrass herself and gain experience.

The round she was asked to shoot was a Junior Windsor and as you can tell from the photo above the weather was perfect for such an occasion. So good in fact that Evie managed to a score 838 in her round, breaking the old DWAA county record of 823.

When asked about it, Evie was no doubt pleased with her achievements, but being as modest as she is, wanted to concentrate more on the level of some of the competition she faced. Remarking just how unbelievably good and impressive some of shooting had been.

With that in mind Kingston archers would like to recognise and extend their congratulation to Emelia Hughes (U16) and Edward Gray (U14) who both shot new UK records of 958.

On a final point of congratulations to Evie, i think it is important to mention she has only been shooting for 6 months, which makes her achievement all that more spectacular. Well done Evie, great shooting.
